MY LOCKDOWN DAYS

Hi everybody am back to blogging and today my blog is about “My Lockdown Days”

Like any other individual I was extremely excited, eager to welcome 2020 and maintain my new beautiful, positive diary of 365 pages.

Life went on normally for me from 1st Jan 2020 -18th March 2020. On 18th March 2020 like any other day I boarded the bus from Thiruvanmiyur to Vadapalani not having a slightest idea that this day would take a drastic turn in my life.

Post lunch on (18th March 2020) my company had provided me the office laptop and had asked me to work from home due to the pandemic. With all smiles I bid goodbye to my colleagues left office at 3.20 Pm assuming that I would be called back to work after a couple of months of sabbatical break. But I never knew that that day would be my last day at work.

Having left office so early I gorged on my favourite gastronomical snacks and reached home much earlier than my usual time with the happiness of not rushing to work the next day, I slept with great relaxation and woke up little later than my usual time basking on the unexpected happiness.

Initially for a few days I had little bit of official works to be done then later as days passed I had lesser or no official work to be done and I was completely free and relaxed.

Having experienced a stressful travel from Madipakkam to Vadapalani and Thiruvanmiyur to Vadapalani I was totally exhausted and was craving desperately for a break and this lockdown was indeed a lovely and a much deserved break for me. A break I can eat, sleep on time, relax well and most importantly pursue my passion for writing.

The initial few days of lockdown was spent sitting in front of the idiot box watching movies and taking a power nap after lunch. Then it struck me that there are more to be done during this time rather than wasting time in front of the idiot box.

So the first productive thing done during this lockdown was learning MS – Excel

My first motto and goal for 2020 was to settle in a good job with high salary in a professional company and I understood that in order to achieve the above strong MS –Excel knowledge is the first and the important pre requisite. I did join an institution to learn the same but due to the pandemic I was unable to continue. And I decided to put my time to good use by learning Ms Excel from you tube through a channel called “TUTORIALS POINT”.

On the  first month of 2020 I had met my very good Facebook friend Mrs. Srikala Akka in Guindy Park and akka had a discussion with me regarding her online magazine called science shore for which she wanted me to be her contributing writer. The moment akka approached me I was very happy and was eager to join akka, thanks to this lockdown I had lots of time to write varied articles to the magazine and to my blog with great zeal and enthusiasm.

MY DEAR FRIENDS MY GOLDEN MOMENTS OF LOCKDOWN ARE AS FOLLOWS

During this lockdown I had the wonderful opportunity to unleash, explore and expose my talents. And I owe a lot to social media for giving me the opportunity.

FIRST GOLDEN MOMENT DURING LOCKDOWN

Teaching Spoken Hindi:  I had no idea of how I was roped into a group in Facebook called Put me in Touch”.

I owe a lot to that group. There was a posting made by somebody about the need of a spoken Hindi Teacher. Me being very confident and fluent on the language applied for the same and started teaching spoken Hindi to adults via whatsapp video calls & google meet on chargeable basis Rs 500 per student for two hours from Monday to Friday. It was a great experience being a tutor and I felt happy and proud on the same.

I take this opportunity to extend my heartfelt thanks to my parents for encouraging me and helping me to learn Hindi.

SECOND GOLDEN MOMENT DURING LOCKDOWN

Am indebted to Facebook once again .There was an advertisement in Facebook by a radio channel called Voxit on needing a fresh voice. The advertisement was prominent enough to garner a lot of attention and me upon accidentally noticing the advertisement immediately applied for the same and after a few rounds of audition I was selected to be an RJ and was proudly hosting a show called

“Vanga Pesalam”. Where I would discuss varied topics with my audiences. Though I was not paid I had a great mental satisfaction every time I did the show.

It was an amazing experience of being an RJ and I was much complimented and appreciated for the below

My hard work and perseverance

My voice quality

Creation of my scripts

It was during that time I realized that I can not only be an RJ but also a script writer.

THIRD GOLDEN MOMENT DURING LOCKDOWN

I had always wanted to be a content writer but due to time constraints and having no clue on how to approach on the same I confined myself to blogging and during this lockdown I had the opportunity to become a content writer and I had given the contents for the websites below

ATOM PHOTOGRAPHY – WEDDING PHOTOGRPAHY WEBSITE

I had penned down a detailed write up about the pre wedding and post wedding rituals conducted in a Tamil Brahmin wedding

It was an awesome experience on being a content writer. I was paid only RS 250 was for the same it was not the amount that mattered to me it was the recognition and happiness that meant a lot to me.

ELIXIR ENERGIES WEBSITE

I had provided the entire content about solar panels for the website

It was during this time when my passion met profit. Every time when I knew about the lockdown extension my heart would secretly jump with joy as I would get more time to accomplish lot of things.

Out of all the golden moments mentioned my best and eternal golden moment in this lockdown was receiving a brand new “Asus Laptop “as a gift from my parents.

It was during this lockdown I had understood the below

1)    Nobody is born talented, people are made. Each and every human being in this world are talented it is we who should take the much needed step and effort to search, unleash and expose our talents. It is undoubtedly very challenging initially but when you put your heart and soul on the same you are surely unstoppable and you are sure to achieve much beyond your expectations.

2)    Time is non-refundable and it is more than the word precious there are lots of things that can be achieved when you invest the right amount of time.

HARRASMENT ON WOMEN.

If you want something said ask a man, if you want something done ask a woman. “

Who is a woman?

Woman: Is a voiceless gender who are made to tolerate different types of violence and abuse both inside and outside family.

Hi my dear friends am back to blogging and today my blog is about violence and abuse on women.

Women are subjected to different kinds of violence such as physical, mental, sexual harassment etc. Precisely speaking women are considered as living objects for men to exploit, harass and show their frustration whenever needed.

Right here in this blog we shall discuss the below

1)     Reasons for violence

2)     Steps for women to save themselves from violence

REASONS FOR VIOLENCE

THE MALE FACTOR

Men both in rural and urban areas are extremely proud of their gender and strongly feel it is their right to abuse women and it is the duty of a women to be tolerant on the same.

SOCIAL STIGMA

Women get married with lots of hopes, dreams of a blissful married life. But not all are lucky on the same. Some are fortunate to live the life they have dreamt while the others are unfortunate to live in the most unimaginable, pathetic and abusive marriage.

Not all women are given the freedom to call it quits to their marriage life. There are women who are brought up with strong stereotypical ideology that women are bound to be tolerant to abuse and it is a disgrace to return back quitting her married life.

These ideologies and thoughts have a huge impact on men, and women fearing abandonment end up sticking to their abusive marriage. This societal stigma is a major trump card for men to abuse women.

LACK OF EDUCATION

Women both in rural and in some parts of urban areas lack education in courage, independence etc. This lack of education makes them prone and tolerant to violence and abuse.

DOMINANCE

Men upon landing on a good job with high salary slowly start their dominance on women urging them to quit their jobs and stay confined to their homes. Weak stereotypical women agree to the same and become heavily dependent financially on the earning member of the family. This dependency makes them being treated as a doormat wife who is abused left, right and centre.

INSECURITY

In today’s world women are also equally capable to land up on a better job with high salary to be in par with men. But not all women are blessed to have a supporting, encouraging husband. There are women who face merciless financial violence upon earning better than men.

Men upon being extremely jealous, insecured tend to harass women financially by taking control of their hard earned money and leaving them penniless. This frustration further leads t to physical and mental abuse.

DOWRY

“As long as she is wise and good a girl has sufficient dowry”

Out of all the other issues dowry is the main reason for violence. Women are treated as princess when the dowry deal is fulfilled as per the agreed terms and is ill-treated upon failing on the same. Men and their families fail to understand that it is a disgrace, shame and illegal to harras women on dowry.

Having looked at different reasons for abuse and violence let us look at the consequence of violence.

Women upon being struck in an abusive marriage face physical injuries such as

Bruises, fractures and other deadly violent in juries which makes them permanently handicapped or infertile.

Apart from the above, women upon experiencing too much pain makes them prone to depression, anxiety and drives them insane.

Children upon growing up in an abusive environment get mentally affected and develop a strong hatred towards the abuser. Children tend to run away from home fearing their safety thus getting stranded in an unknown land being deprived of basic necessities such as parental love, education and good food.

STEPS FOR WOMEN TO SAFEGUARD THEMSELVES FROM VIOLENCE

Social Media

Social media is a wonderful platform when used properly. Urban women should be bold, courageous and independent enough to report violence and abuse. Upon doing so there are sure chances of getting help immediately.

Being fiercely dependent is one of the major reasons for women to be prone to violence and abuse. Both rural and urban women should stop being financially dependent and try to be independent as possible.

STAND AGAINST VIOLENCE

Women both in rural and urban areas should put an end to violence and abuse by themselves by making a complaint in the nearest police station. By doing so women safeguard themselves and also become a source of inspiration to other women.

COMMUNICATION

Communication is the key to success in all relationships. Instead of talking about each other we should start talking to each other. Women upon being abused should try talking to their partners and put an end to the same by themselves.

My dear women folk you are much beautiful and stronger than you think and assume. You play various roles of a mother, sister, wife, daughter, daughter in law with great excellence.

There are plenty of job opportunities available online and offline women should find the right job as per their educational qualification and should try to be financially independent.

Words are not enough to describe your sacrifice towards your family. Please don’t allow others to abuse or ill treat you.

My dear women it is ok to fall down once but not ok to fail to rise again and be back with a bang. Please be courageous, bold, and independent to leave the table when respect is no longer served.

Thank you.

CHILDREN'S DAY

Children are the stars of today and the future leaders of tomorrow. Children are the most priceless asset for a couple. A home is incomplete without the presence of cute, cuddly, innocent and sweet children. The presence of children at home adds great pleasure and positive vibes in our daily lives.

If you could ask me what is the best part of my life?  I would say that my childhood days were the most precious, nostalgic and beautiful part of my life and am proud to say that I had the best childhood ever. I Am desperately looking for a time machine which would take me back to my childhood days.

Hi friends am back to blogging and today my blog is about children’s day.

Children’s day: Every school going kid eagerly wait for this unforgettable day during the month of November. Children’s day in India is celebrated on the 14th of November every year which is actually the birthday of our former Prime Minister Pandit. Jawaharlal Nehru who is affectionately called as “Chacha Nehru” for his love for children.

But officially children’s day is on the 20th of November and it was during that day the United Nations had adopted the declaration rights for children.

It is during 14th November children’s day is celebrated with much pomp at schools with lots of games, competitions and prize distribution. Children are also pampered by their parents by planning a trip with their children to their favourite malls and restaurants.

But there is a misconception that children’s day is a one day affair. It is not a one day affair and there is more to celebrate children’s day other than the customary celebrations.

Right here in this blog we shall discuss the below

1)     Tips for celebrating children’s day on a daily basis

2)     Steps to be taken to celebrate children’s day in a much better way.

Not all children are fond of gifts and not all can be bribed by gifts. There are children who long, crave for parental love, affection and involvement. There is a drastic change today on child upbringing when compared to earlier days.

Today’s parents being involved on the rat race have no or less time for children. Working parents leave their children alone at home or with maids. Children growing up with busy parents become neglected and this negligence results in having huge negative impact on children where they are prone to getting in to bad company or performing poorly in academics.

Tips for celebrating children’s day on a daily basis (TIP 1)

Working parents should keep a check on their children and should try to spend at least an hour chatting and listening to them patiently.

Parents should regularly have dinner table discussions with their children. A productive, hilarious, enthusiastic conversation is a must. During the course of discussion parents are requested to keep their cell phones away and try to pay utmost attention to their children as much as possible.

Parents should read bedtime stories to children until a certain age as and when possible.

Children upon receiving the above from parents become extremely happy as they had received the much needed attention, response and love that they have craved for.

TIP 2

Gone were the days where children used to play outdoor games happily with their friends. With the sudden technological revolution children are totally addicted to games in their smartphones, playstation and other gadgets and have lost total interest to play outside. Playing outdoor games are not only confined to schools but also applicable at homes.

Children should be encouraged to play outside and make new friends. Upon doing so children get to interact with others and learn the art of verbal communication. Children when allowed to play outside become fit, energetic and happy physically and mentally.

Children’s day is all about children’s happiness. Anything that makes children happy on a daily basis is considered as children’s day.

Let us discuss the better ways to celebrate children’s day.

When one section of children celebrate children’s day huge celebrations.  one section of children crave for a day to be pampered.

Children’s day is not only for the fortunate but also for the unfortunate children. There are no doubts about the efforts taken by NGOs to make children’s day a special occasion to the unfortunate children. But we as responsible citizens should also contribute on extending a helping hand to make it big to the unfortunate children.

1)     Schools apart from following a customary celebration should plan a trip to the missionaries, orphanages and organize more events at their premises and also encourage children from the missionaries and orphanages to participate on the same. Upon doing so children understand that happiness is something that is to be shared with everybody and extending our contribution in making others happy is real happiness.

Schools if possible should try to collect minimal funds from children and should try to sponsor a meal to the unfortunate children on children’s day.

Schools and parents should inculcate the habit of donating old clothes and toys to the unfortunate children. What seems old and useless to us is new and useful to them.

Parents should also plan a trip to the orphanages with their children to make them understand the art of living with minimal comforts.

Every year on children’s day new habits should be taught to children and should ensure that it is inculcated and followed for a lifetime.

GOOD HABITS TO BE TAUGHT TO CHILDREN

THE ART OF SAVING MONEY

“Money speaks one language you save me today and I shall save you tomorrow”

The art of saving money should be taught from a very young age .Parents should ensure that pocket money provided to children are put into good use.

Parents should initially teach fireless cooking to children and gradually move the ladder of teaching them basic cooking for survival.

Parents should teach basic household chores to children upon doing so the attitude to help their mothers, sisters and partners starts from a very young age.

My dear new found friends and fellow bloggers each and every child is special and have their right to live happily in this world and achieve their dreams. We as matured and responsible citizens should try to take the necessary steps to ensure that the dream of every child is fulfilled.
